The Most Welcoming Country in Europe

Thousands of miles from home, having locals who are willing to step in and help you out with any snags along the road can make all the difference. So, what’s the friendliest European country of them all?

Condé Nast Traveler recently polled readers on the topic for their 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards, in which ordinary people determined the best of the best in travel.

Their answer? Ireland! It’s hardly a surprise, given that numerous global reports have named the Irish as some of the most welcoming to visitors in the world.

From the Cliffs of Moher to the ancient volcanic columns of Giant’s Causeway, there’s plenty to explore if you’re willing to venture a bit deeper into the Irish countryside.
